There is no accommodation at Mount Buffalo at this time (The Chalet is closed) but the Lake Catani camping ground is open from November to the end of April and has Hot Showers, Toilets and tent or small camper sites. There is also a Group Camping site for Schools and Groups
There are also two hike in outstation camping areas

* Rocky Creek (Via the Reservoir)

OUTSTATION CAMPING
Remote bush camping is available for a limited
number of hikers during the summer months at
the Rocky Creek and Mount McLeod Camp-
grounds. These are minimal impact camping sites
designed for fuel stove use only and have pit
toilets. Remote camping is possible for a
maximum of two nights only with a permit issued
from the Entrance Station.

Mount
Buffalo is a great location for camping, fees apply. Camping at Lake
Catani is available from November to April. Bookings are needed in busy
periods

Please note: there will no longer be a ballot for camping at Lake Catani over the Christmas holidays.
Non-Peak Periods: For
the convenience of those wanting to pre-book, which is advisable, sites
22 to 59 can be booked at anytime, up to 12 months in advance. These
sites will always show reserved signs.
Sites 2 to 19, are only
available for casual arrivals on a first-come, first-served basis.
These sites will only show a reserved sign when in use.
Group Camping Area A
special area within the campground (sites 22-29) has been set aside for
schools and social groups. These sites must be booked in advance,
through the park office; ph (03) 57562328. Only two school or social
groups can occupy the campground at any one time. The total number of
school or social group campers must not exceed 50 on any one night.
Peak Periods:
Mt Buffalo National Park will
not be balloting for peak periods this year, the system will be based on a first-in, first-served basis.
Bookings will open on Monday 1 September at 10am for the peak periods of: Melbourne Cup weekend 01/11/08 - 4/11/08 (min. stay - 3 nights) Labour Day weekend 07/03/09 - 9/03/09 (min. stay - 2 nights) Easter 10/04/09 - 13/04/09 (min. stay - 3 nights) January School Holidays: bookings must be in week blocks (Saturday - Saturday) as follows:
