There are also spectacular views of the Alps from the Gorge and Dingo Dell lookouts while our walking tracks are a great way to see our waterfalls, granite pinnacles, snow plains and forests. So spoil yourself and "Visit Mount Buffalo" this spring.

Camping at Lake Catani camping ground is now closed until the Melbourne Cup weekend - there is still outstation ski/hike in camping at Rocky Creek and Mount McLeod

Porepunkah is a small village at the base of Mount Buffalo

(With amazing views of the "Island in the Sky")

Porepunhah has a Hotel, two Cafes, a Service Station / takeaway food / General Store plus a ski shop in winter.

There are five Caravan / Camping Parks in the vicinity offering a range of accommodation options including self contained cabins.

Porepunkah also boasts two wineries (both of which serve meals) plus an olive grove with olive products for sale.

Located on the Ovens River foreshore is a picnic reserve with public toilets, a summer swimming hole, a play ground area and grassed banks for relaxing and watching the river go by.

The rail trail also passes through Porepunkah and there are historical goldfields remains to explore along the river banks.

There is also a V Line Bus stop located in the Village centre that connects with the rail service at Wangaratta via Beechworth (and Bright)
