CROSS COUNTRY SKI HIRE

Cross county skis and boots are recommended for Mount Buffalo as there are no down hill ski lifts but there are groomed cross country ski trails

Cross country skis only attach to the boot only at the toe allowing free movement to ski up hill. Most have a "one way grip"pattern cut into the underside that allows the ski to grip the snow when skiing up hill but also allows the skis to slide freely when traveling back downhill.

It is recommended that you ensure that all ski equipment that you hire is in  good condition and fits properly.
Poorly fitting boots and loose bindings may allow the boots to move on the ski.
This not only makes learning to ski and skiing difficult but could result in a serious ankle or knee injury.

HIRE SHOPS

There are a number of ski hire shops in Myrtlelford, Bright and Porepunkah, there is also cross country ski hire available in Wodonga

Note that not all ski hire shops stock Nordic / Cross Country Skis.

The ski shops listed below hire Cross Country Skis

These shops  also have a good range of equipment and clothing for sale.

SNOW CHAINS

All ski shops and many service stations hire and sell snow chains
