During the 2008/2009 Christmas Holiday period the Mount Buffalo National Park Rangers will be conducting a range of programs for visitors.
The program runs from 27th December 2008 to 25thJanurary 2009.
Some programs require pre-booking.
All ranger led activities are free.

MONDAYS
10.00 AM to 1.00 PM ..... A RANGE OF NATURE WALKS
Join a ranger for a walk (At a range of locations dependent on the date). View and discuss snow plains, forests, flora and fauna.

7 PM to 9 PM ........... WILDFIRE AND WETLANDS
Enjoy an evening at Keown Lodge at dingo dell and view an informative slide presentation on the 2006 / 07 fires.
Meet the ranger at Keown Lodge at Dingo Dell on the Mount Buffalo Tourist road.
TUESDAYS
10.30 AM to 12.30........... WATER WATCH A BUGS LIFE
Learn the importance of clean water and also what interesting macro invertebrates live in our lake.
Meet at the beach in the Lake Catani Day Visitor Area.
2 PM to 4 PM ...... DISCOVERY AT DINGO DELL
Spend an afternoon with a Ranger and a Traditional Owner sharing information about the parks history, ecology and other interesting topics.
Meet at the Dingo Dell Visitor Information Centre on the Mount Buffalo Tourist Road

10 AM to 12 Midday ...... GEOLOGY SHAPING THE LANDSCAPE . MAHOMETS TOMB
See first hand how the forces of Geology and Geomorphology have shaped the landscape at Mount Buffalo.

Fun , games and local trivia around a campfire at the lake. Junior Ranger Certificates will be presented.

10 AM to 12 Midday ...... RANGER RAMBLE TO VIEW POINT
A walk past Lake Catani and out to magnificent View Point with a wide range of vegetation and scenery.

FRIDAYS
10 AM to 12 Midday ..... RANGER PIED PIPER
Kids should keep an eye out around the Lake Catani caming ground for the Ranger Pied Piper and the barrow of goodies.
10.30 AM to 12.30 ..... CAPTURE MOUNT BUFFALO RECOVERING
Join local Wildlife Photographer and Tour Guide Clyde O Donnell on a guided walk around Mount Buffalo. Learn the basic techniques of wildlife and nature photography.
Meet at the Stone Hut in the Lake Catani Camping Ground Car Park
SUNDAYS
1 PM to 3 PM ....... JUNIOR RANGERS WET AND WILD
Spend an afternoon exploring Lake Catani and its Unique plant and animals
Meet at the beach at Lake Catani in the lake Day Visitors area
10 AM to 11 AM ..... INDIGENOUS HERITAGE OF MOUNT BUFFALO
Join a Minjambuta Elder and take a stroll looking at the bush in traditional ways; including bush tucker and much more
